I been seeing a lot of “top artist” this or “top song/genre/music” that and I have not seen a EDM one that covers songs that hit you with the feels. Songs like these are important since it shows how powerful EDM can be. Some people just pass off EDM as being hyper, unoriginal, boring noise that isn’t music. And that makes me sad to hear stuff like that. Well this post will shed some light on songs that can do more than just sound good. The list here are songs I have heard, so I won’t be able to have heard that amazing secret song you know.

KOAN Sound – "Starlite"

This song was shocking to hear, coming from KOAN Sound especially considering there past stuff. The majestic strings, sincere drums, and meaningful melody truly says a lot.
The Japanese House – "Still"

This might be the one song on this list that blurs the line between Alt-Rock and EDM mostly because of the style and effects the artist uses. Vocals that you can feel hit you, intense lyrics, and a moody/chill beat that can make you slow down.
Flume + Beck – "Tiny Cities"

As the newest of the bunch, just released in late May, this song is a fantastic collaboration of two artists I didn’t know I wanted. Intense beat, brilliant vocals, and interesting lyrics make this a must listen.
Porter Robinson – "Goodbye To A World"

Changing up a bit here is this somewhat overlooked, at least from what i seen/heard, song from Porter. It is a lot more intense in terms of beat a bit while still retaining that deep/chill vibe it overall has. Great melody, and stylistic vocals are this songs strong point.

The odd one of the group here is this glitchy, messy, and somehow brilliant melody creating song. Some of you know already know this guy as a member of Glitch Mob and I can save you and the rest by saying they both have the same glitchy and somehow mesmerizing feel.
The Chemical Brothers + Beak – "Wide Open"

This list wouldn’t be complete without the one and only, The Chemical Brothers. As yet again we have Beck back with another mesmerizing performance. This song has a phenomenal beat that is both haunting and mesmerizing. If I was to make a #1 spot in this list, it would go to this song.
Halsey – "Is There Somewhere"

Emotional and deep, this song will give you chills if not strike a chord in your heart. I’d be lying if this song did not invoke some hard feels when i heard it. It has a strong meaning to it, intense beat that does from chill to fast in a second and a beautiful voice to seal it together.
Deadmau5 – "Careless"

The oldest song of the group here. Made during a interesting point in his life, Joel Zimmerman produced and sang(a very rare thing) this song. Beautiful piano melody, powerful lyrics, and it features his own cat in the beat. So there is the cat tax!
Skrillex – "With You, Friends (Long Drive)"

Now I know what you are thinking. “Fuck Skrillex and now fuck you, bruh”. I can totally understand that. But before you start hating, give the song you may not have heard a listen. It is something very different, just like the edIT song I listed, but it is still emotional and that’s the point. It has beautiful pianos, gorgeous stylistic vocals that work and a great pace.

Finishing off the list is this majestic song. Featuring a beautiful singer, enticing beat, and meaningful lyrics it fill surely make to sway and relax no matter what is the ailment.
